Australia in the grip of Naturopathic shortage
Melbourne and all around Australia is in the grip of a shortage of Naturopathic Practitioners. Several immigration sites are offering Visas to skilled practitioners to entice them to practice in Australia.
In many parts of the world Naturopaths are considered to be part of the mainstream health care system.
Canada recently upgraded their licensing arrangements for Naturopaths by allowing them to write prescriptions and perform pathology tests.
Many US states are also coming on board to register Naturopaths are primary health care providers.
In Australia, there is a definite shortage of Naturopaths. Especially, when coupled with a health care system which is unable to provide sufficient doctors, particularly in rural areas.
Naturopaths provide safe and effective, natural health care which compliments the western medical system. Increasing access to Naturopaths, will take a considerable burden off the health care system, saving the country billions of dollars every year.
And most important of all, Naturopaths encourage preventative medicine by teaching people ‘self-care’. Information which has a huge impact of a person’s ability to get themselves well and maintain their health on an ongoing basis.
